B- the anxious client

I can’t believe i am sliding into this new version of myself, that i never saw coming, I have been part in construction projects since I am a little girl, with a father, grandfather, husband, involved in the business , I have done plenty. But this new facet is completely new to me, I am anxious, scared, freaked out and just plainly a difficult client at the moment, the kind of client that I hate, that does not understand that there are things being done that are not noticeable, that are behind the finish, I know better but my subconscious does not let it go, and does not let me sleep well at night. We have one month to finish, and we need at least, one week and a half to install the floor, and I need to pack and actually leave this house by march 31th. Timing is Really tight.

This week we decided we are going to demolish the existing floor before we install the new porcelain tile, after much discussion back and forth, we think is the right decision, that takes more time and money!!!! OUCH!!!!! We already got the flooring contractor that is going to do the work at a reasonable price, but we probably are going to need a new dumpster, more money!!!

What have we done?, not much that you can see in the video.

The electrical work is done, the plastering of the walls have begun (very slowly if you talk to the b-client, and just fine if its the b-contractor talking, even though we did not work saturday or monday, supposedly a stomach virus going around), most of the new drywall has been installed, the guest bedroom closet has been divided to have more closet in the master bedroom, the master bathroom has been demolished , refinish and floor and shower walls tile installed, the other wall mosaic is being install as we talk.

Also the kids tub wall tile has been installed, the wrong tile was installed , murphy’s law, I guess, I did not go to the house that day, the tile contractor decided he knew better than anybody and installed the one he wanted, and Juan Carlos was there and did not get the mistake, we rearrange the tile’s placement in the bathroom to get the same look without demolishing what was already very well made (after a big argument and lots of tears spilled by me).

The office sliding door towards the lake has been installed also, it looks AWESOME!!!

The porcelain tile has arrived, 4 pallets of my chosen tile, it feels weird I usually have the client making the last decision, this I decided, what a huge responsibility, but i know its going to be great!!!!!

All in all, a good week of work but it feels like everyday there is more to do.

Please note that my videos are being recorded with an iphone, and the one this week, babywearing, for the unknowledgeable in baby terms carrying the kid attached to me, the not very heavy, 23+ pounds 19 month old wiggly toddler. My mom began to work this week and from now on he has to be with me all the time. The wonders of mommyland.

For next week, I hope I am back to the confident architect, and everything is going smoothly, I hope the finish is mostly done, and we are beginning painting inside, that is hope, cleaning and repair outside would begin, bathrooms must be almost ready, and usable, and maybe I can move my office there to be, Toddler and I, Closer to the action.

Hey there would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!
